Registration
Chess is a unique sport that has many types of events: tournaments, camps, seminars, classes, exhibitions, lectures, social events and more.
This introduces a level of complexity not seen in most other programs. For example:
Tournaments require current ratings, ID numbers from US Chess, along with basic identifying information. Winning prizes in an event triggers even more information for financial distributions and tax reporting
Camps (especially overnight camps) require ages, player levels, and information that may pertain to housing arrangements, t-shirt sizes, and so on.
Events can have a series of questions designed specifically for that event.
Classes require tracking a student’s progress over time
Memberships and discounts require aspects of tracking not typically available in things like tournament software.
All of these items also cause backroom information for participant tracking, accounting, and other purposes.
Unfortunately, today no single piece of software adequately addresses all of these concerns and “unifies” all of these registration types into one, easy-to-use registration system. While we will work toward that, today we have three different specialized systems that we make available on this page.
